An intimate romantic wedding with family in Byron Bay.
Lindsey & Daniel held an intimate romantic wedding under the giant fig tree at Fig Tree Restaurant in Byron Bay. With only 10 (and then 12 with two surprise guests) of their nearest + dearest people, it was a truly wonderful afternoon! From L&D Tell me about your The Beginning! We met at Sydney Uni in a marketing class in 2008. I was on exchange for 6 months and I sat down next to him in our first class. We ended up living close to each other so he would pick me up on the way to class. We fell in love over many coffee dates and cocktail dates. I moved back to Sydney in 2009 and the rest is history.
When and where did you get engaged?
At Vail in Colorado in 2016! Dan proposed at the top of a ski run called cloud 9. There had just been a fresh dump of powder from the night before. So we walked off to a lookout and before I knew it Dan was on his knees asking me to marry him. He had written a heart and our initials in the snow. Then we skied down Cloud 9 ( I was truly on cloud 9). Afterwards we met his family in the Ritz Carlton where we were staying and had champagne and canapés and enjoyed the hot tub in the snow. It was very memorable! What was your most memorable moment from your wedding day?
Walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Dan’s face!
Top Tips?
Keep it simple! You don’t always need the fanfare and everything else that someone tries to sell you. Just focus on the two of you and what it is that you both really want.
